Sam You, Esq., is the other founding member of RO & YOU LLP. He concentrates his practice in the defense of workers’ compensation claims with a focus on providing advice & counsel and representation to Employers, Insurance Companies, Third Party Administrators and Government Agencies in areas of employer liability matters, California labor practices, workers’ compensation strategy, risk management and third-party subrogation rights.
With experience in both California and Missouri, Mr. You has handled all aspects of litigation, including numerous Hearings, Depositions, Trials and Appeals. He places special emphasis on mitigating risks for the clients and minimizing potential exposure through comprehensive evaluation of the clients’ practices. Mr. You has also successfully defended California Labor Code §132(a) and Serious & Willful claims for employers.
Mr. You has successfully represented numerous Fortune 500 companies as well as national insurance companies such as Liberty Mutual Insurance, Gallagher Bassett Services, York Risk Services Group, AIG Insurance, Travelers Insurance, Zurich Insurance, ESIS, Tri Star Risk Management and Broadspire.
Professional Background
Prior to RO & YOU LLP, Mr. You was an Associate at a national AMLAW 200 firm providing defense representation to various self-insured employers and insurance clients. Prior to that, Mr. You served as Assistant Attorney General of Missouri in the Labor & Employment division in charge of nearly 1,000 claims for over 90 State Department Agencies & Officers. Mr. You has also successfully argued before the Missouri Court of Appeals and Missouri Labor Industrial Relations Commission.
